Hi followers,
It's the last day of 2016! Tomorrow will be a new year with no mistakes in it, yet! We have the chance to start over. Many at this time of year begin to think of changes they want in their life and resolutions. I'm going to use this year to glorify God and have a sweeter and closer friendship with Him! What did you give God this Christmas? I know that the greatest gift you can give Him would be you! Jesus wants more of you this year! He wants a deep friendship with you and no other gift can replace that! In Christ, Lilly :)

Hey followers,
I know Christmas was a few days ago but I really wanted to do a Christmas Post! Christmas is the celebration when our savior came into the world. But I think most people just look at the manger, angels and shepherds. We must remember that Christmas is just the beginning of the story! What would a baby in a manger to for us? How could he benefit the world?? He came to die on the cross for us and rise on the third day, conquering death and sin! This is amazing news! We celebrate Christmas as the very first part of His amazing story! My friend Erica took the picture below!! <3 Merry Christmas everyone!! Love, Lilly :) Hi followers,
I love poetry and beautiful words! The Lady of the Lake is a large poem. I don't know that much about it but it was mentioned in Anne of Green Gables. Anne even acts it out and recites it but it's not exactly like the poem...the part in the movie when she lays in the boat and pretends she's dead. :) If you've read Lady of the Lake...please let me know where to buy it! Here's a few lines from the poem I wanted to share with you: Sweet Ellen, my dear, my life, my love! I place thee in this lovely boat and guard thee like a tender flower. So as I let thee float away, I hope your cares with me won't stay. But know my love for you today will last until tomorrow. Lady Ellen was sweet and pale, tho her blood was going stale. And her loyal lover set her sail, upon the silver waters. Thanks for reading! In Christ, Lilly :) Hi followers, As you may already know...I am a big fan of Anne of Green Gables! I think the stories of her are so sweet and funny! :( :) I think I can also relate myself with Anne...we both are very dramatic...we both love pretty things...and we are both very different from what people call a normal or ordiany girl. I like to be different and dream of a true kindred spirit! I hope you learn to love her as much as I do. If you haven't read the books or watched the movie featuring Canadian actress Megan Follows...I would strongly encourage you to watch and read them! I hope that you learn to love her as much as I do! I've put a little slideshow together of some pictures and quotes from Anne of Green Gables! Also, I included in the slideshow a picture of Megan Follows (the actor, who plays Anne) reading Anne of Green Gables! I thought that was pretty cool! Love, Lilly :) Hi followers,
I would like to start a little challenge for this weekend. Criticism is something that we deal with every day! It can be us getting the criticism or most of the time it's us giving the criticism. We do it more often than we think we do. What's the opposite of criticism?? I would have to say that the opposite is encouragement and blessing! James 5:9 says, Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door. You may say that you’re not that critical or that you don't put people down but do you do the opposite?? Do you take time to bless, build up and say thank you?? Just analyze your heart, right now. Just think of all the times that you've felt criticism. Does it feel good?? No it does not! So when you're about to be critical…just think about how it hurts. Of course I don't mean that you cannot ever make judgments. But I DO MEAN that you cannot make harsh judgements or be unjustly critical! Sadly, I've been dealing with this a little bit. But also remember sometimes you just have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes you just have to let it go and say, "God, I don't understand why this is happening. I don't understand what you're doing. But I'm going to trust you anyway!" It's ok to not understand something, right now!! This can apply to school work, friendships and so much more! I personally am a critical person! I usually analyze everything and its details. Yes, we need to analyze things and have some critical thinking but we have to remember to be THANKFUL! It's a small word but means so much!! I know that just last month we put a day aside to be thankful and to thank God for his many blessings. So my challenge is this: Put this weekend aside to not say anything critical or put anyone down!! If you feel you would like even more of a push...be thankful…say thank you more...and instead of looking around at the things you don't like...be thankful for them. Take time to encourage your siblings and praise them. :) The bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I know that I've said a lot but I hope you got something out of it! Thanks for reading my post! Love, Lilly :) |
